EB tresos AutoCore for BMW – basic software for BMW ECUs
Similar to other OEMs, the BMW group asks their ECU suppliers to comply with their specific set of requirements for basic software (BSW).
We have a long history in providing automotive suppliers with basic software tailored to match BMW requirements. Our collaboration started in 1997 with the development of the BMW standard core version 3, extending hardware support to a range of eleven platforms with version 6 of BMW standard core.
Since then we have become the exclusive integrator for the BMW standard core and have built up expertise in OSEK and BMW system functions by investing more than eighty person-years of development efforts in BMW Standard Core related projects. In 2007 BMW started to introduce AUTOSAR as new basis for the basic software stack.
To match BMW specific needs a number of the standard AUTOSAR modules were replaced by special BMW implementations and a few add-on modules and software components are added to complete the stack. This new stack was named BMW AUTOSAR Core (BAC) and is big step towards the AUTOSAR standard.
The cooperation between BMW and EB continued and the major part of the BMW specific functionality was implemented and is maintained by ourselves and integrates flawless into our own AUTOSAR standard core, EB tresos AutoCore. As it is the case with our EB tresos AutoCore for BMW. It is fully integrated into our product family, EB tresos, and can be configured using EB tresos Studio. The fully integrated solution is available for major microcontroller platforms.
